I am an International Medical Graduate. Like many, I’m in the midst of a seemingly long and arduous journey towards finding my place in further education and practice of medicine in the United States. Step 1, Step 2 CK, Step 2 CS, Step 3 — these are the necessary steps in this brand of art. They mark the beginning of a different level of one’s medical profession. To keep my sanity during this peculiar sabbatical, if I may, and perhaps to share some wisdom from experience, I started to write a log of what I’ve done so far.

I wish to share some of my experiences with the ECFMG applications, the USMLE, and my participation in the online community worldwide connected by these shared experiences. Let’s begin with Step 1 and we’ll see if this takes us somewhere.
